In 1989, Cynthia was diagnosed with Lupus, an auto-immune disease which affected the lungs, and over the years her lungs began to fail. She developed pulmonary hypertension as well as pulmonary fibrosis, and lives daily on oxygen while still working as hard as she can to help support and care for her family, and vice versa. She has suffered both a collapsed lung, and many bouts of pneumonia, all of which she has been hospitalized for weeks at a time. Due to her lung function deteriorating, she is now in need of a lung transplant, but as you may know, the medication for after such a surgery can be and is very expensive…

Family and friends of Cynthia Freeman-Jackson are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
