Hello! My name is Michelle Maze I have Stage 5 Kidney Failure. I am currently on the transplant list for a kidney and a pancreas. Here is my story!
I am a 38 year old mom of 2 wonderful boys, Loudan and Levi, and the wife to an amazing & very patient man, Keith. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Kidney Failure and it has progressively gotten worse. On January 9, 2019 I was put on the transplant list for a kidney and pancreas. When it is time I will be having surgery at Virginia Mason in Seattle, WA. I have an amazing transplant team and a lot of support from my family and friends.
My original plan was to hold a benefit motorcycle ride and dinner in August. We were going to do a motorcycle poker run, with silent and live auctions with a dinner at the end. Unfortunately the Corona Virus has hit and it makes the fundraising planning a little tricky SO we are going to try and do some virtual auctions and see where that takes us.
On May 18, 2020 I got a call saying that they had organs for me. The doctors ended up deciding that this was not going to be a good match for me. So knowing that I am getting closer to the top of the list means I need to ask for help. I have to live within a 45 minute radius of the hospital for 4-8 weeks after I am released from the hospital. The cost of living in Seattle and the surrounding areas is very expensive. We have to pay for lodging, food, parking and any new medications and bills that the insurance company will not cover. We are estimating that we will need around $8,000 just for that stay. I am asking for any help that you can give. There is no amount that is too small and every dollar helps.
Thank you to everyone that has been with me on this crazy journey.
Here is a little bit about why I chose HelpHopeLive to help with my fundraising.
