Justin has worked as a Diesel Mechanic since graduating Big Sandy Community/Tech. College in his early 20’s. His Liver began to fail in his early 30’s, about the same time that the coal business that provided him employment failed also. This was the beginning of tremendous struggles to earn money and keep insurance that would pay for all the mounting medical bills.
Justin’s Liver failed completely in April of 2020. We, his family, pursued help from several different hospitals but he was turned down as a transplant candidate at all that we asked. Finally, with only days to live, Johns Hopkins wanted he and his parents to come to Baltimore so that they could look at him themselves. This was a journey of Faith that God would answer our prayers for a quick transplant. God answered our prayers and he was placed on top of the transplant list within 5 days of arriving at Johns Hopkins and was in surgery for a Liver Transplant on the 7th day.
Now the long road to recovery is underway and we must stay in the Baltimore area for several months while Justin heals and the danger of serious rejection lessens. The cost of renting and living in this area is huge, along with cost of medications and supplies for him, not failing to mention the copay of hospital cost.
This is why we have teamed up with Help Hope Live, a tax deductible nonprofit organization, to control all of our fundraising money and donations. We are asking that you give serious consideration to giving your yearly tax deductible contributions to us, via this organization, to help us cover a lot of these cost.
Justin has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Thank you for your support!
Justin is a little over a month post transplant. He is getting stronger, slowly. He had so much cell damage, due to toxin build up in his body, that it will take awhile to get better. We are still in Maryland and will be here for a while.
