Help fund the Gift of Life! #Kidney4Justin

Justin is a social justice advocate who has dedicated his life to helping others. He is an anti-bullying supporter, a passionate member of the LGBTQ+ community, and works for the Asian Law Caucus which provides legal aid to immigrants in need. Justin has also been living with chronic kidney disease since the age of 25 and was just diagnosed with end stage renal failure (also known as end-stage renal disease – ESRD) for the second time in 8 years. This means his kidneys have declined to the final and permanent point where they will no longer function on their own, unless he receives a transplant. Justin needs your help!

Justin is extremely lucky to have a friend willing to donate their kidney and he is currently on dialysis as we wait to see if his friend is a donor match. Unfortunately health insurance does not provide for all the costs of surgery and post-op care. We humbly ask for your support with the expenses ($18,350) of this vital transplant surgery, which health insurance will not cover.

We know this is a big ask in 2020 – between COVID-19 and the California wildfires, it has been a very hard year for everyone; but if you can make a donation, you will be funding the incredible gift of life AND help Justin continue his life’s mission of giving back.

1) Make a donation – Justin’s family and friends are raising money through the nonprofit Help Hope Live (In honor of Justin Javier) to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with ESRD. Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses.
