The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4
Megan had her double lung transplant on 08/23. Her chest was open for 10 days, before they could fully close her. After she was closed, out of ICU and released to the step down unit, she was still having loss of mobility and some other issues. She was then sent to a Rehab facility until 09/29. Since 09/30 We have been in Sandford's Post Transplant Housing.
Now that she is out of the hospital. I have estimated costs for the next 2 months, so our next fundraising goal is to raise $5680.
Fundraising Efforts and keeping everyone up to date.

Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. Job 33:4
Day 16: September 7th
She’s been up and out sitting in the chair
Day 15: It deserves 2 updates
Day 14: Sept 5th
Megan moved today!
Next steps, working on being able to eat, walk & stand!
Day 13: September 4th
She Requested no picture today, so this is a view form her room! She had another big day.
1) Medication tree down to 1 branch
2) All chest tubes are out!
3) Physical therapy, she moved to the chair and then using this cool contraption, she was able to stand.
4) Speech therapy also starting to work with her. She’s still having some issues with her vocal cords, nothing major or uncommon, but she is still not able to engage in full conversation.
Possibly moving out of ICU Monday or Tuesday.
I think that’s it?!
Day 12 (?) I think
I hope I got it all y’all, she’s had a productive 24hrs!
Day 10: September 1st
Day 10: 1st of September & Taco Tuesday
Megan is more aware today than she has been. She’s been very active since I have been here (I mean she is active and then randomly naps), but hospital staff asked her what’s the first thing she wants to do when she gets out. She said, can I have a margarita? She also wants to go to the beach
Day 9: Monday Aug 31
10am: No BM, low grade fever, surgery on hold
Day 8: August 30th
Today, stable. All organs are functioning beautifully.
Prayer
Day 7: 8/29 @ 1600
Everything is stable. Organs are good. Blood pressure still fluctuating.
I gave her a baby wipe bath today.
This is just some butterfly art I saw in the lobby of the ICU.
Day 6: Friday: August 28th @ 1700
Just so everyone knows I’m here. Lots of little things going on. Positive progress but still some hills to over come.. Never thought I’d beable to see the insides of my sisters chest, it’s so weird
Day 5: Thursday 8/27
Surgery went well yesterday. The hematoma around her heart ❤️ was caused by blood
Day 4: Wednesday 8/26:
0300: they are prepping her for a hopeful 0900 surgery to close her chest
Day 3: Tuesday, 8/25 @ 1400 (2pm)
Got to see Meggie today. I was trying to envision what an open chest looks like and now that I got to see it, it’s not as gut wrenching as I created in my mind.
She has been pretty aware and coherent. We got her a writing board and she put that to work. I was able to meet with the doctor and the social worker. I got a much better understanding of what her progression should look like and what my post transplant role/duties are.
Surgery to close the chest seems positive to happen tomorrow. They are really just trying to get as much excess fluid out as possible.
She wanted to try and use my phone to text. We did attempt it but because of how she’s laying and wires, she ended up typing a sentence but it took a lot out of her.

Update at 330am on Sunday, August 23rd.
Megan was taken back to OR roughly an hour, almost 2hrs ago. We just got updated, it is a go and full steam ahead.
Hello Family & Friends.
As many of you know, we had an early morning phone call for Megan to received lungs last week on 08/10. It ended up sadly, being a dry run, but it also made up realize, we were not prepared. We have been putting and putting off setting up the fundraiser, but last week made up realize her call could come at any time!
Our fundraising coordinator and the social worker at the hospital, has given us a fundraising goal. These funds will help with travel costs of not only Megan, but her caregiver team. It will also help cover living costs, as Megan and her caregiver (Tonya), is required to stay within 45 minutes of Stanford for 3-4 months post transplant.
