Oliver Giminaro is a forty-four year old man who lives with his dog Obi in Denver, Colorado. Twenty eight years ago he suffered a spinal cord injury(SCI) during a family vacation.
Oliver’s van is twenty years old and needs extensive mechanical work. The wheelchair lift is broken. It can’t be repaired and needs to be replaced.
Oliver uses his van to attend meetings at the Chanda Center, which provides funding and integrative therapies for persons with neurological disorders, as well as weekly therapy and physician appointments.
Oliver is an advocate for the SCI community and volunteers for local non-profits (ARC of Aurora, Chanda Center for Health). At the Chanda Center for Health he was invited to speak to the Colorado State Congress to support the SCI waiver (video above). He is a board member of the Chanda Plan Foundation, Peer Mentor for Craig hospital, and a patient advocate for Denver Health’s new SCI clinic.
Making a donation will help Oliver continue to support his community and attend all of the necessary therapies and medical appointments he needs to remain healthy.
Family and friends of Oliver are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Injury.
Oliver has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.
