I have been doing research and saving money. Have lowered the limit on my account. Any little bit helps. I would be incredibly grateful to be able to get out with the kids this summer.

"My name is Taya McCoy, and I am a 38 year old mother of two, ages nine and one. I deal with multiple chronic illnesses that cause mobility issues. I recently obtained a motorized chair, which is making my life so much easier!

Unfortunately, I am struggling to find solutions for transporting my chair. Our community has metro mobility, but I am unable to utilize it it when traveling with my one-year-old (i.e., most of the time), because she needs a carseat, and metro mobility doesn’t allow it.

My chair is life changing for me, but I am currently only able to use it at home, due to my transportation difficulties. It would be so helpful if I had personal access to a wheelchair accessible van, so I could safely transport myself, my chair, my daughter’s car seat, and my two children, all together, wherever we need to go.

It has been a long journey to get to where I am now, and I am so grateful for the extended mobility that my chair is allowing me at home. Now, I am asking for your help, so that my children and I can continue our journey beyond the walls of our home! "
