Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a great summer! I wanted to give everyone a brief update on my journey as so many of you have been so thoughtful to check on me and send messages, letters and texts, thank you from the bottom of my heart it means so much! The last three months have been a whirlwind my case was presented to the surgeons at the Cleveland Clinic in June for a possible lung reduction or valves to provide me with some relief and time before a transplant would take place. Unfortunately they did not think either of these would be best suited for my situation and in the long run a transplant would be the best thing for me. Disappointed yes but trust that they have my best interest and longevity in mind. So we move forward with the transplant team at this point, after the surgeons met a few weeks ago they feel that I need to undergo another infusion for my bones which will help me in my recovery as well as a few weeks of Resp therapy under my belt before they present my case again. When they told me a year and a half ago this was not a easy process nor a quick one and how serious of a surgery this is never did I realize it would be this hard and long and drawn out. I know my family and friends get very frustrated as I do as well and pray everyday that it all comes together here soon. Many have asked if I have explored other opinions or facilities and the answer is yes! I am not tied to any facility until I am listed, but the Cleveland Clinic is top notch in lung transplant and the amount they do yearly compared to other facilities is incredible. Again, thank you thank you thank you to everyone for your prayers, words of encouragement help around my house, donations to my fundraiser, texts, cards and calls! I dont think i would have made it this far without everyones support! Love you all!!! #breatheinbreatheout
