Pulmonary Capillary Hemangiomatosis. Like us, you have probably never heard of it. PCH is a lung disease where the capillaries continue to grow, like the roots of trees, through the lungs minimizing lung space and making it impossible to breathe. Unfortunately, this disease has also put a lot of strain on Wayne’s heart, causing Pulmonary Hypertension and chronic right heart failure. At his last appointment (10/16/2020) his right heart catherizaton showed his heart was working 15 times harder than a normal 40 year olds. The doctor informed us the only treatment left is a complete double lung transplant. Replacing his lungs will not only cure him of Pulmonary Capillary Hemangiomatosis and Pulmonary Hypertension, it will also reduce the strain to his heart and reverse the chronic heart failure. Without a transplant, the disease is fatal.
Fundraising is our only hope to give Wayne a second chance at life. He is a 40 year old father of three, husband, and old-fashioned cowboy. He believes the golden rule and works hard to help others any way he can.
Transplant surgery will be completed at INTEGRIS BAPTIST HOSPITAL with a likely 3 week stay post surgery. While Wayne is on Medicare, expenses will build for the surgery, medical treatment, life-long anti-rejection medications, and other related expenses. We are asking family, friends, and our community for assistance helping cover medical expenses.
Family and friends of Wayne Johnson are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Wayne has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Thank you for your support!
Wayne received lungs 4/15/2021. 76 days on the waitlist
2/1/2021 wayne is listed for double lung transplant. The next call we get will hopefully be available lungs.
Hello everyone. Wayne met with the transplant team at Integris Baptist, and they told us there is a few things we must complete before he can be listed. We have to meet our financial goal, he has to meet with a counselor to make sure he has emotional support, he has to be cleared by a dermatologist that he has no skin cancer and he has to fix a couple of his teeth that were broken from some of the medications he has been on. Since he will be in anti rejection immune suppressants after transplant, they have to verify there is no infection in his body.
Wayne has continued to progress steadily. His cough has greatly increased, as well as his shortness of breath. He often gets light headed from just walking.
We pray for continued support so he can be listed quickly. Please pray that he remains stable until the transplant can be completed. I wish you all a happy thanksgiving and thank you for your continued support for our family.
Wayne will meet with the team at the Nazih Zudhi transplant center in Oklahoma City on Nov. 18th.

Although we are very partial, our daughter could not have found a better man. WE choose to keep him around for a very long time, not just because our daughter chose an amazing husband for herself, nor because he is a great dad, but because he is a great son, even if it is ....in-law, our hearts know no difference.
Love you, Dad and Mom Scott
