Dear Family & Friends,
Many of you know a man very special to us, Thomas Hughes. He is the loving husband of Kathy, wonderful father to Brenda, Tami, Robert, Ashley, Ariel, and grandfather of four.
For the past 20 years, Thomas has been suffering from a kidney disease. Since August, Thomas has been unable to work and is currently on disability. He is about to begin dialysis 3 days every week. In addition, his doctors at Loma Linda University Medical Center have told us that he is now in need of a life-saving kidney transplant. We are in the process of looking for a living donor.
Funding this surgery is a monumental task. There are many expenses that are not covered by insurance and must be paid out of pocket. Some of these expenses are co-pays, deductibles, and Thomas will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications.
In order ease the financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Thomas’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Please consider making a contribution today.Your support is crucial! A fundraising committee has been formed and we are planning several exciting and fun events. Any ideas or help you can give is welcome!

On behalf of Thomas and our family we thank you for your kindness, generosity and prayers.

Tom, I am believing God for the money you need for this operation. It's moments like these when people are challenged to put faith into action—all we need is a mustard seed faith, with it Jesus said we can move mountains and when that mustard seed is planted, it becomes one of the largest plants. May God's abundance shower you my friend. Your faithful head-banger and cousin-in-law!!!

Hi Tomm...I realize I don't know you very well, however perhaps that can change in the near future. We live minutes from Loma Linda (no kidding). With your frequent visits to the hospital, please feel free to drop by, anytime. Buddy Bert will be happy for the company,. By the way...hope you like cats and dogs, we have an abundance of both. I will keep you in my prayers even though we are heathen in this household, (just kidding). All our love Buddy Bert and Kathy.
