Why is it that bad things happen to good people? Unfortunately, I don’t have a sound answer for this question. What I do know is that a very good friend and brother is in need of our immediate help. On April 17, 2012 Stacey Hull will be undergoing a life-saving kidney transplant at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. The donor? Miraculously, his wife, Misty!
Anyone who knows Stacey and Misty know that they are always on the giving end of the stick— continually and faithfully giving — whether it be a financial gift to someone less fortunate or by the donation of their time to someone in need of a kind shoulder.
Even with insurance, Stacey will have many uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor visits, travel and temporary relocation to Washington and the costly immunosuppressant medications that he will need to take for the rest of his life. This presents a financial challenge that the family cannot meet alone.
To help offset his uninsured costs, a fundraising campaign in Stacey’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All contributions are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Northwest Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. You can help make a difference in Stacey’s life. Please consider making a contributionI count it a privilege and a blessing to help out my friend. Won’t you join me in “paying it forward (or upwardJ)” as the saying goes?
Thankfully,
Clint and Karen Playle
