Some of you may know that I have a hereditary kidney disease. I was diagnosed with this at the age of 21.

Over the years my kidney function has slowly become worse. However in August of 2019 I contracted COVID-19. When I got COVID it caused my kidneys to not work well enough to keep me alive. This is what I am currently facing. There are two options for treatment for this they are dialysis or a transplant.

If I were to get dialysis I would be going three times a week for four hours at a time. Yes this will keep me alive however a transplant would offer me more freedom and the ability to live a longer, healthier, more normal life. A transplant would give me more time to do the things that I enjoy most, like spending time with my family and friends and volunteering at local food banks. Thanks you for taking the time to read my story. I would be happy to tell you more about my story. I am hopeful that this will help me reach my goal of getting a kidney transplant sooner.
