He has been in the hospital since November 2nd and active on the transplant list since November 25th. Home is Knoxville TN, but he is at IU Methodist in Indianapolis – nearly a 6 hour journey.
Family and friends are helping to care for the home, pets, and teenage son in Knoxville. Jennifer and their nearly 2 year old son have temporarily relocated to Indianapolis. Currently they are staying in a hotel week by week. Post transplant they will still need to remain in Indianapolis for 2-3 months.
The funds raised will help to support our household at home as well as the temporary housing up here in Indianapolis. It will also help for medical expenses not covered and the tremendous amount of medications he will need to take post transplant.
The love, support, and encouragement we have received from friends, family, neighbors, strangers has been absolutely enormous and we are forever grateful!
Family and friends of Steven Smith are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Steven has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.
