Gosh, where do I start…I’ve entered the threshold of end-stage Cystic Fibrosis. It’s been 39 long years of a lifetime filled with life-sustaining medications, breathing treatments, insulin, and infections sometimes resulting in hospitalizations. It’s nearly six years since you lost your battle at the tender age of 29, but now I completely understand how you felt. The tiredness each and every day is becoming exhausting and relentless. Coughing spells accompanied with shortness of breath have become more frequent and have led to more infections. My lung function was dropped to 22% with my weight also plummeting. This disease is taking everything out of me, slowly…
My only hope now is via lung transplantation. Jessy, I will have a chance to LIVE once again! I will be able to marry Troy. You never had the chance to meet him and would have had a ball messin’ with him! I’ve made so many new friends! I’ll be able to work and attend normal functions once again! Maybe I’ll even have the chance to grow gray hair!
The expenses post transplant are a bit pricey especially when you have to relocate to Philadelphia for a few months. Room, food, and ubers add up quickly. Hopefully, we’ll get some help with all that.
I love you, my sister. I wish you could take me by the hand and walk beside me on this journey. But please no need to worry because I have many loved ones from nearby and around the world who won’t let me give up. This battle has been so long, but I’m never alone. And let’s be honest, you’re gonna slap me with one of your wings if I start to take any detours.
Well, I close this note with tears of love streaming down my cheeks. I miss you. I wish Cystic Fibrosis didn’t take you away from me. Hopefully, I will not succumb to the same fate. Pray for me. Pray for my potential donor. Pray for us all.
Love,
Your sister, Jenny

I have a dear friend who had 2 daughters. As I sit here and send this message my mind wanders to how she and her family have had to cope with this extremely serious illness.
Unfortunately she lost one of her daughters and the other is end stage. She is on the transplant list and is a fighter so hopefully she will get the lungs she desperately needs soon.
If you are unable to donate(I understand the economic situation)Consider 15 minutes a day to prayer. Her name is Jenny.
Thank you.
