Zach is in the start of kidney failure.

He has lived with diabetes since the age of twelve and has now reached a critical point in his kidney function and is in need of a transplant. Zach is a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. Zach is also a well liked elementary teacher in the Altoona community. Funds raised will help offset medical expenses not covered by insurance like co-pays, medications, and travel for treatment which will allow him to focus on his recovery post transplant.

On Friday December 3, 2021, Zach underwent transplant surgery from his Living donor- his sister. Both are recovering well. His sister has been discharged to recover from home. The kidney took immediately and is functioning as it should. We want to thank everyone for their prayers, donations, and well wishes.

We are happy to report that Zach's sister is a match and is donating her kidney. We are so thankful for her selflessness and donating life! Transplant surgery is scheduled for early December. We are all so thankful for your support to help with relocation and travel expenses that will be paid through this campaign.

Thanks again!
