We never thought it would be possible for Wesley to ride a bike. This past fall, he mentioned to his PT that he was not able to ride one. She put things in motion to make it possible for a mobility company to bring out a demo the week before Christmas. When he got on that biked for the first time, he took off down the street. We were all amazed including himself. I wish you could have all seen the smile on his face that day. We got to keep the bike for a couple of weeks to see what would work for him and it was awesome to get outside on bikes as a family.
If you are on this page, you probably know us or Wesley in some way. We were always told as he got older and he added height and weight to his body it would make it harder for him to walk. We knew that, but it has been hard to experience as he has stopped doing more and more physical activity. We just moved to a new neighborhood which is perfect for family bike rides, but we must leave Wesley at home. We would love him to be able to come with us.
Because these bikes are so specialized and will be made to Wesley specifications, the price is rather high. The cost of the bike is $5,700. We have already been denied by our insurance company to cover it. We are trying to raise funds to cover the cost of the bike.
If you are able to make a donation to help us purchase this bike for Wesley, we are so thankful.
We have shared this story with many of you and have been blown away by your generosity and for your help and eagerness to make sure Wesley gets his bike.

Thank you for your support!
Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!! We have been blown away by everyone’s love, support, and generosity!! When we saw Wesley on the bike for the first time we were so excited, but when they let us know the price we were so discouraged and deflated. Friends encouraged us to raise the money, we never imagined the response we would have gotten. It truly takes a village and we are humbled that you would Be part of it. Thank you!! Can’t wait to show you more pictures and videos. His bike should be here this summer!
