Barry Copeland is a 67 year old African American man hoping for a second chance of having a better life and love and nurturing, because his younger years were devoid of this basic need. This is the reason Mr. Copeland needs and wishes for a kidney transplant.
Barry Copeland was born into an adverse situation, whereby, his mother gave him up at birth, and his father rejected any involvement in his life. Subsequently, swallowed up by the state orphan and foster care system. Devoid of caregiving, nurturing, support and security throughout his developmental years, Mr. Copeland grew up very distressed and in constant fear. The perennial strong emotions led to developing high blood pressure, which in turn, adversely affected his kidneys needing dialysis.
Despite all the adversity, hurt and lack of love Mr. Copeland endured, he holds no bitterness and anger. Amazingly, he has nothing but overwhelming good intentions and love to give. A kidney transplant will provide the opportunity to live longer and have a better quality of life. Hoping Mr. Copeland will have the chance to do more for his family, especially his baby grandson, who he loves dearly. Mr. Copeland wants to see his grandson grow up, and be his. role model, and provide the love, caregiving and security he lacked in his own youth. A two-fold benefit to enhance the lives of both first and third generation
Family and friends of Barry Copeland are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Barry has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.
