Please help save a husband, father, grandfather, brother, retired teacher and coach.

Jim was diagnosed with a hereditary liver disease about five years ago which has gotten progressively worse. He is now in need of a liver transplant to survive. We’re asking family, friends, and anyone willing to join us in fundraising for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to help with critical expenses Jim will face and expenses that his living donor will face as well. The expenses could include the cost of travel, lodging, food, etc. for both of them before and following surgery. Since both families will be at UPMC Pittsburgh which is about 3 hours away for everyone, we have decided to reach out to others for their support. Jim is required to stay for up to 6 weeks and our living donor up to 2 weeks following surgery. Also, there will be additional co-pays for both for medications which are not covered through the insurance.

Jim is fortunate to have a friend get tested and is a “living donor” match. Because of the generosity and willingness to pursue this surgery, Jim would like to cover all the donor needs and expenses during this time.
Jim has always loved and enjoyed being with family and friends. If anyone needed help he was always willing to do for others. He is an avid hunter and enjoys the outdoors. Jim has over the past six months been in and out of the hospital due to complications from the liver. It’s devastating for his friends and family to see him suffer the way he is.
