Hi friends, I need your help for relocation, travel and medically related costs for a double lung transplant.
I have LAM (Lymphangioleiomyomatosis) a rare lung disease. I was diagnosed in 2007 after a visit to the ER, the chest x-rays showed watery like cysts in both lungs, the radiologist said it looks like LAM disease and referred me to a pulmonary specialist. I got in the next day for a consult to confirm it was LAM. The pulmonologist referred me out to UCLA where they specialize in rare lung disease. That was the start of my journey.

In my case the progression of LAM has been slow and gradual over the past 14 years. I was able to work part time and enjoy lite activities for many years but each year it gradually worsened. In 2018 I got a new diagnose of severe asthma with exacerbation that further progressed my LAM disease. At that point everything became a challenge, severe SOB on exertion, major fatigue and more cysts accumulating, causing more restriction and obstruction with lung function. My pulmonologist put me out on permanent disability with end stage lung disease. I retired in 2019, as a Cardiac Sonographer, a career I loved and was blessed to work in.
