Hi, my name is Andre Naylor (Dre). I am 40 years old and live in Greensboro, North Carolina. I am a husband, father of 2, son, brother, uncle and friend who is in dire need of a kidney. If you would like to learn more about being a potential donor, please contact me via Facebook “Naylors Kidd” and I can provide all the information you may need.
On May 17, 2020, I received a call from my doctor stating I had stage IV kidney failure and needed to immediately see her. I arrived at the doctor’s office and was told my kidney was functioning on less than 10 percent and I would have to be placed on emergency dialysis and now need a transplant. I immediately started to think the worst, such as, I wouldn’t even survive to experience my kids’ next birthday, they would be forced to grow up without a father and my wife left to raise them on her own. But, GOD, had other plans.
Two weeks later, I was placed on dialysis and my road to recovery officially began. During this process so much has changed in my life that I felt like I losing everything. I found it extremely difficult to communicate my fight with anyone, not even to my closest family and friends. However, for those who know me, I always try to put my best foot forward and make the best out of any situation, despite the odds that may be against me.
Physically, this has been an exhausting journey. I am often left drained from treatments and deteriorating kidney function. I still enjoy doing simple things like spending time with loved ones. The hardest part has been the emotional and financial burden it has placed on me and my family. I dream of returning to a normal life, not just for myself, but for my entire family.
Although it has been a long road, I refuse to let this disease claim power over my life and goals. With God’s grace and the support of family and friends, I will beat this disease.
I am fighting to spend more time with my loved ones.
I am fighting to fulfill my dreams and purpose.
I am fighting to be a living testament to others battling kidney disease.
“I AM FIGHTING!!!”
My family and friends are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in my honor, Lawrence Naylor to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
I chose to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the GIVE button.
