I am raising money for my Double Lung Transplant.
On April 5 2020, I was rushed to the hospital to take the COVID test. After arriving to the hospital, I was rushed to another hospital strictly for COVID patients. I had no chance to let my family know what was going on. I stayed in the hospital for 12 days with little energy and strength and on oxygen the whole time. When it was time to go home, I found out insurance would not cover it.
I am struggling getting back to my old self and it has not come yet.
I have not worked since that time.
I was a person who enjoyed to walk along the lakefront or anywhere to find peace of mind. I loved talking and hanging out with family and friends. Now I am not able to because I get short of breath and my feet and ankles swell. After some time, it takes 2 or 3 days until I am able to really do anything. I always feel as if I am slowing people down from what they could do if I was not with them on the activities. I have 2 beautiful 8yr old nieces that love to play with their Aunt Michelle. I am the youngest of 4 of an awesome mother.
I got engaged to the love of my life this year not knowing if I would be here to become his wife.
I am now on two very strong medicines to help with the rapid failure of my Lungs until my transplant.
I miss laughing and being full of life. I am very confident that when the transplant is done, I will have my quality of life back. Yes, I am scared, but if you could feel a glimpse of the pain, mentally and physically that I endure days on end, you would understand my need for the transplant.
I am asking for help for medical bills and transportation to and from hospital appointments. I will need to be there for 6 months at least 3 times a week. I will need 24/7 home care that my insurance does not cover. As for medication, I will have to take between 15-20 pills for the rest of my life. I will need physical therapy along with speech therapy. I am sure that there are costs that I have left out. It is a stressful feeling to imagine all the costs adding up with limited funds of my own.
I have faith that all will come to be a brighter future. I am sure there are new journeys ahead of me, my family, and all the lives I will touch.
Please help if you can, no amount is to small. Thank you
