Tom Findley has dedicated the majority of his young 37 years of life to coaching youth sports including football, wrestling, baseball and softball.

He gives his whole heart to his community and the children who live in it, but after several years of managing Congestive Heart Failure he now needs a life-saving heart transplant. His kind, generous and loving heart has failed and currently is relying on a mechanical heart pump to provide his body and vital organs the oxygen they need to sustain life.

Tom has been hospitalized for the last month and will not be able to safely leave the hospital until he receives the gift of a new heart. He has been unable to work due to the severity of his illness and will not be able to immediately return to work post-transplant, if at all. He will have to undergo extensive surgery and rehabilitation to regain strength lost over the last month. After the transplant, Tom will have follow up appointments in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at least weekly to monitor how his body is reacting to his new gift. He will also have to take immunosuppressant and other medication for the rest of his life to ensure his body does not reject the new heart.
