My life changed when I heard devastating news in 2019. I am Kishan Sinchuari. I am a father of two handsome sons aged 7and 5 years old and little princess who is 4 month old now. I came to Vermont as a refugee immigrant with my family in 2009 from Nepal. My family and I moved to the US in search of a better life. Living in a refugee camp was challenging in many ways. My family and I struggled to survive every day, but my life became better after arriving in the US. Moving to a new place wasn’t easy for me, it took time to adjust but we were learning new ways and managing somehow. I went to high school and graduated in 2013, and married my high school sweetheart.

I was a happy and healthy person until I heard the devastating news in August 2019 that I was diagnosed with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). In the same year, my mother also received a kidney transplant. It was the happiest and saddest year for me. Life is unpredictable. When the doctors said I have ESRD, my whole life fell apart; it was difficult to digest the news. The doctor said I needed to start dialysis soon and put me on the transplant waiting list. I began dialysis in December 2019 three times a week; since then, I have been on dialysis and on the waiting list. Since I started dialysis, it has affected my quality of life. I was always tired and became unproductive.
