My name is Glory Martin I am a proud mother of two and grandmother of one. I served 12 1/2 years in the US Army before retiring. I was diagnosed with kidney disease in 2011. I have followed all of my physicians orders and taking all of my prescribed medications. Unfortunately in 2012 because of my declining health I had to retire from my job as a nurse at Norton Suburban Hospital.
I was started on dialysis in 2017 and I go to dialysis three days a week and have never missed a treatment. December of 2021 I was placed on the donor transplant list after working very hard to meet all the criteria. I am hopeful that I will be able to raise enough funds to help reach my goal to live a longer healthier and more productive life.
My family and friends are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live in honor of of Glory Martin to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
We chose to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button. Glory, what a perfect name. I am a kidney donor, my brother had been on dialysis 3 times a week, like you. He had Agent Orange from Vietnam which caused his cancer.
Thank you for your service in the Army. If you were in a war zone, I hope you are receiving VA benefits to help you. He struggled hard to get his benefits.
Please know you are loved and I am sending you virtual hugs.
