See a cardiologist on April11th
What is ischemia?
Ischemia is a condition in which the blood flow (and thus oxygen) is restricted or reduced in a part of the body. Cardiac ischemia is the name for decreased blood flow and oxygen to the heart muscle.
What is silent ischemia?
Many Americans may have ischemic episodes without knowing it. These people have ischemia without pain — silent ischemia. They may have a heart attack with no prior warning. People with angina also may have undiagnosed episodes of silent ischemia. In addition, people who have had previous heart attacks or those with diabetes are especially at risk for developing silent ischemia.
Friends,
One of our fiercest and strongest angels, Jabari Livingstone-Bullock , has been diagnosed with Stage 1 Multiple Myeloma Cancer.
This is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. Healthy plasma cells help you fight infections by making antibodies that recognize and attack germs.
In multiple myeloma, cancerous plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow and crowd out healthy blood cells. Rather than produce helpful antibodies, the cancer cells produce abnormal proteins that can cause complications.
This type of cancer is Rare with fewer than 200,000 US cases per year. Thankfully, it is treatable and Jabari is already undergoing treatment. He is currently in his 4th cycle of treatment and also undergoing IV infusion therapy and taking several medications.
In April, he will undergo a plasma transfusion which will require him to be in the hospital for 3 weeks and since it will cause his immune system to be compromised he will need to be isolated for several months.
It goes without saying that going back to work is not going to be possible for a while. Although insurance is covering most of the medical bills, I want to make sure he doesn’t have to worry about ANY bills until he is back on his feet.
If you know Jabari you know he is a proud strong person who is always there for anyone who needs him, now it’s time for us to show up for him! Like I said, Jabari is strong and fierce and I know he will beat this and come back stronger than before!
Please donate anything you can, share this link over and over and let’s get our boo set so he can focus on coming back to fly these friendly skies with his smile and all the sass that comes with it!
