Hello, my name is Sharnet Anderson, I’m fifty-six years old, and I live in Charlotte NC. My husband and I have been married for thirty-six years, have three children and four grandchildren. For years, I was an active member in my community, but in 2018, I became ill. I was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, which is a lung disease. Due to the severity of my condition, I was placed on oxygenated support twenty-four hours a day which I have been dependent upon for four years now. In 2019, I was informed by my physician that my only choice for a chance at a better quality of life would be for me to have a double lung transplant.

So, my family and I began researching all options and agreed that signing up for the transplant list was the best choice for a chance at a longer, healthier life. Although there were many challenging obstacles to overcome to be placed on the transplant list, I endured and successfully met all the requirements. After the surgery, I will be required to live near the hospital for treatments. Unfortunately, this means I must leave my family in Charlotte, NC, for three to four months to live in Chapel Hill, NC. This journey is life-changing but costly, so any donation you give will be greatly appreciated.
