I am writing to share with the world the latest news about a very special person in my life, my great uncle, Ted Kannady. Five years ago our family learned that Uncle Ted was suffering from kidney disease and needed to start dialysis immediately. Until 2008, my uncle continued to work and run his own business, TK Construction, a company that he had founded in 1992, dedicated to concrete finishing throughout Florida. At that time, none of us knew that he would soon be in need of a kidney transplant.
For the past two years, he has been undergoing dialysis therapy FL three days a week while waiting for the call that a compatible kidney has been located. Even with insurance, Uncle Ted will have many uninsured, transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, doctor’s visits and the expensive immunosuppressant medications that he will need to take post-transplant for the rest of his life. This presents a financial challenge that the family cannot meet alone — they need your assistance.
To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Ted’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive (formerly NTAF), a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for nearly 30 years. All donations are tax- deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Your contribution is greatly appreciated
