In September 2021 Cheyenne had to rush to the ER because she was in stage four renal failure. She was put on emergency dialysis which removed 40 pounds of excess fluid that was packed onto her body. There, she found out about her extremely rare auto immune disease that caused her kidneys to fail. It’s so rare that it only effects 45 other individuals in the country! Because this auto immune disease is so uncommon, doctors haven’t had enough cases to study to figure out a solution. Cheyenne unfortunately has to undergo a kidney transplant so she can try and live life normally again. At least as normal as one can with a new kidney.
As of right now, she has to do 12 hours of dialysis a day. Luckily she’s able to do this at her home while she’s asleep through PD dialysis, but she will have to continue that treatment until she can receive a new kidney. Being a 24 year old doing all of this can be a little overwhelming but her positive attitude remains firm!
In order to officially get on the transplant list her doctors have given her a few things to get done. She’s had to get a bone marrow biopsy and she has to raise $3500 dollars for some pre and post surgery costs i.e medications, co-pays, & bills. Post surgery, Cheyenne will be out of work for atleast 2-3 months and is required to take certain medication for the rest of her life. This will take a toll on her financially since it’s just her and her brother providing for themselves.

Here’s a few things about Cheyenne so you can get to know her. She’s a manager at Hideaway pizza and has been working for their company for 4 years. She works 35 to 40 hours a week in order to keep her household running all while doing dialysis, seeing her doctors regularly and trying to maintain a social life as a 24 year old woman.
Cheyenne has a twin brother and a younger half sister. Unfortunately her parents passed away when she 15 and her oldest brother passed away from cancer when she turned 20. So financially she’s been on her own for a while.
Cheyenne loves to read and hang out with her friends, and lay out on the sun. She also enjoys staying active and trying to ensure a better quality of life despite all that stands in her way.
She is required to raise atleast $3500 dollars in order to receive this kidney transplant and to ensure her means of living since she won’t be able to work while she recovers from a major surgery. Any amount will help her reach her goal, and is greatly appreciated!!! Let’s help her get there and get her a step closer to living life normally again.
