My journey began in 1998 when I found out I had an enlarged heart. Around 2009 I found out I had congestive heart failure and have been battling it since then. Around April 2021 they had to bring me back to life. They put an LVAD (a pump for end-stage heart failure) in me to keep me alive while I wait for a heart transplant. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t be here now. I felt defeated. What kind of life was I going to have? I had to learn my new routine in life. I live on batteries during the day and plug into the wall at night.
My daughter means everything to me…She will be 12 this month (April). She helps take care of me. She wants to spend time with me doing things and learning how to craft. She is bright young lady who loves to prank family members like her mom does. Just enrolled her in 4-H Positive Youth Development and Mentoring Organization and she is excited about that. I see a bright future ahead of her and I would love to be a part her journey.
She understands what her mom is going through and hopes one day she gets a new heart. Your donation will help me with the medically related expenses that insurance will not cover:
Travel expenses
Medical supplies
Life-long, expensive anti-rejection medicine
Would you join me on this journey to help me live for my daughter?

Pattys journey to a heart has taken many bumps and curves. On July 22 Patty after a 16 hours surgery got a gift of a heart. She was left in a coma, on Aug 3 the family was excited when she open her eyes. On Aug 5 Patty was able to follow nurses commands she stuck her tongue out and wiggle her toes. She is fighting to get better but her body suffered shock from the surgery. She is on a ventilator, had a tracheostomy, liver and kidneys not working but getting better so she has to be on dialysis. She will need help paying her bill and the cost of meds. thank you...Janice Schultz
Well I've been admitted to UK hospital to stay until I have a new heart. June 15, 2022

Patty is my sister. Patty has always been an unstoppable force.. This has slowed her down but not put a stop to how she has always lived her life. Anyone who has had or will have an opportunity to spend time with her will feel blessed. Patty has to raise funds for her needs but let me tell you that when others are in need she's there asking what she can do. All her friends and family want her with us for a long time to come. This donation comes from people I work with.
