Greg’s journey with heart failure started back in 2006 when he received a cancer diagnosis, the treatment to save his life wreaked havoc on his heart leading to heart failure in 2019. Since 2019 Greg has had a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) implanted essentially keeping his heart beating. Unfortunately, this life sustaining machine has a known manufacturer defect with an active recall, however, his heart is not strong enough to undergo surgery for replacement. He has been active on the transplant list (UNOS) in Michigan since 2020 without success. This has led him to the difficult decision to move within a four-hour drive of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville Tennessee with the hope a transplant could happen within the next year. We are asking family and friends to join us in the fundraising for him with the help of Help Hope Live to assist with critical expenses Greg will be facing leading up to and following the transplant.

Greg is a loving husband and a father of four daughters and one son and a grandfather to two granddaughters and six grandsons. Greg has always been the type of person to help anyone in need under any circumstances, now is our chance to give back to him.
