Raymond has had long battle with Heart and Kidney disease and now has come to a critical point. My husband (father, pawpaw & brother) is now in Chronic Heart & Kidney failure and needs both transplants to survive. We are asking family and friends to join us in fundraising for the nonprofit, Help Hope Live to help with the critical expenses that Raymond will be facing immediately after these surgeries, including the cost of lodging near the transplant center where he is required to stay for a minimum of 60 days or longer following his discharge.
Raymond has always lived a positive and productive life as a God-fearing man despite his chronic health conditions. He has never let health challenges get in the way of achieving his dreams from graduating Temple High School to working hard in the construction and industrial fields, to starting his family. Raymond loves the outdoors such as fishing, camping, and getting in the car to just ride and enjoy the sites. He loves to spend time and visiting with his family and friends. Raymond has been married to his wife, Carmen for 32 years, with 3 adult children and faithful members of 10th & Ave M Church of Christ. Raymond’s positive attitude and lifestyle as a Christian man has helped him avoid the inevitable for a very long time, but now his heart is functioning at 22% and his left kidney is not functioning at all in which he does dialysis 3 times a week.
Raymond does have a primary health insurance, but many transplant expenses are surprisingly not covered and with him needing a dual transplant, these non-covered expenses have doubled. There are monthly expenses that will include such things for his anti-rejection medications that he will be taking for his new heart and kidney. Raymond has been told to anticipate the cost of $5000 or more per month for just these medications alone.
Donations to Help Hope Live can help ease the financial burden of these transplants and will allow Raymond to focus on his healthy recovery and a long life ahead with his loved ones, especially his grandbabies, Kylie 8, Azari 6, Riley 5, Kamden 4, Jaden 2, Azah 1 & Azalia 2 months.
We want to thank you for taking the time to read and share Raymond’s story so that he can continue to live his dreams, as well as be with his family and friends. May God continue to bless you and your families always.
WE GOT THE CALL! Raymond had his Heart Transplant on 04/15/2023 around 11:00pm and his Kidney Transplant on 04/16 around 4:00pm. He is recovering well in hopes to be discharged from the hospital in a couple weeks. We are truly blessed to have the support, love, donations and most of all your continued prayers as Raymond begins his recovery journey. We love you all and may God continue to bless you and yours always.
Thanks to all those who have donated as we completed our first goal of making it to $5000.00! Without each of you this could have not happened. Raymond is truly blessed to have you in his life as family and friends. Without God, this would not be possible! Again, Thank you and may God continue to bless you and yours always!!!
Now on to the next reaching goal of $10,000! Stay tuned for our next event for donations. Please share Raymonds page.
Had a great past weekend! We sold 48 homemade different flavored cheesecakes and between those and just donations we raised almost $2000. God is so good! We are truly blessed! Now on to the next fundraiser! :)
We did a raffle for two baskets, one was a wine basket and the other was a family movie night basket. We collected $1270.00. It truly was a blessing for all of the donations!!
