The story of my sickness goes back to childhood. I have always been sick and have never really known why, until I became an adult. I found out that I have a rare autoimmune disease, and it has affected my liver. In December of 2021, I found out that I have liver cancer. What started off as three tumors has multiplied, and I am in need of a liver transplant.
I’ve been an activist and speaking up for others through my whole life. I volunteer for CASA and help children, something I am very passionate about. As a child and young adult who lived through abuse myself, I find it my mission to help children who are in similar positions and help them through some of the toughest times one can ever manage. That despite the ugliness of this world, we can still shine and we can and will overcome.
As we have seen the world change, where we have undoubtedly lived through historical events nearly every single day through these recent years, I have been finding my strength and my voice. I have become a political activist, as well, and one day I have dreams of running for office. There I would focus on healthcare, child protection laws, human rights of equality for all and aiding those whose voices are soft, lifting them up so they can thrive. Because I have been through these things myself, I understand their positions.
And so my sole mission in life is paying my life forward. Helping others so they can better their lives because I know that my life is a gift. I have been gifted my life on several occasions, and in recognition of that, I will pay what I have been given forward.
But in order to do that, I realize I cannot do it alone. I’m reaching out for help during this time where I am struggling financially for basic needs during my transplant journey. These basic needs would help pay for housing, after transplant care, medical expenses and other necessities.
I have dreams and goals to meet and rise up so that I can continue to help others. I want to make this world a better place a little bit at a time. But in order for me to do that, I need the help and support of people like you.
If you are in the position to give, thank you because I understand that every little bit counts. I am grateful for each and every last person who even took time to read a small portion of my journey as I continue on this road of paying my life forward.
Family and friends of Pryncyss Gray are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.
Pryncyss has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Thank you for your support!
I'm raising money currently to get to Aurora, CO so I can get housing. I have liver cancer and need a liver transplant. In order to receive that transplant, which I will be on the emergency list in September, I have to find housing in Aurora. That right now is my current struggle, to be able to afford housing so that I can make it to Aurora to receive my transplant. I am very grateful for any help received and will pay my life forward to help others. Thank you for your consideration.
