Cassie is currently fundraising for her surgery that was in July 2023 and related expenses, as well as ongoing expenses due to multiple chronic illnesses. Read her most recent update for more information.
Cassie has been diagnosed with multiple chronic illnesses. In 2016, she was diagnosed with cancer in her thyroid and one of her lymph nodes and underwent surgery and radiation. Her continued declining health led to her finally receiving diagnoses of autoimmune disease, fibromyalgia, chronic headaches and migraines, myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS), Raynaud’s.
She has also been diagnosed with neuropathy and a form of Dysautonomia called POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome). Basically, her doctor believes her autoimmune disease is causing her body to attack her own nervous system. Her doctors believe she has probably had several of these conditions for most of her life, and that they have continued to worsen.
There are no cures for any of Cassie’s chronic conditions.
Our goal right now is to continue pursuing treatments that help Cassie manage her pain, and to find treatments and medication to lessen her symptoms and regain more functionality.
Donations will go to cover ongoing medical expenses like medication, doctor appointments, tests, infusions, travel expenses, etc.
Cassie experiences symptoms like constant fatigue, pain, daily headaches, frequent migraines and autoimmune fevers. Tachycardia, low blood pressure, dizziness, and difficulty breathing are also daily symptoms.
Cassie aims to encourage others going through chronic illness through her blog. You can follow along her health journey at cassiecreley.com.
We greatly appreciate all the support and prayers! Thank you so much to everyone who donates!

Hello friends, here's a quick update on some of the recent expenses your donations can help with:
Expenses from over the summer include:
-Physical therapy (not covered by insurance)
-Neurology specialist (a small portion covered by insurance)
-Trying a new infusion--the first infusion helped so I’m going to give this treatment a try.
Upcoming expenses include:
-Infusions every two weeks.
-I also had two tests done that may or may not be covered by insurance.
Ongoing expenses include paying for the four of my five medications that aren't covered by insurance, and more.
I’ve still not been accepted by an in-network neurologist due to number of patients. Wait time if I am accepted is still 1-2 years.
Thanks for taking the time to read this update. Sending love and thanks to everyone for your support!
This Friday, May 31, Help Hope Live will cover the credit card fee for 24 hours for all donations. So the only expense HHL will take is a 3% admin fee. (The credit card fee is an additional 2.65%)
What would your donation go towards?
My recent medical expenses include:
-$200 for the portion of my MRI not covered by insurance.
(Thankfully the MRI showed I will not need surgery for my worsening neuropathy. Continuing with PT instead.)
My upcoming medical expenses include:
-$300 neurological test not covered by insurance.
(I've had to find an out-of-network office for this test since my neurologist left his practice and canceled my test.)
-$200 Physical Therapy
-$240 appointment with an out-of-network neurology specialist.
(I will be scheduling with this specialist while I wait to hear if my referral to a new neurologist is accepted. If it is, I will be waiting 1-2 years to see a new neurologist.)
Thank you to everyone who has donated this year! Thanks to your help, I was in a good place to get my the new tires and breaks my car needed before cost of parts went up.
Sometimes I wish I were a car and that I could as easily swap out my faulty parts! XD
Hello thanks for checking out my fundraiser!
Here’s a quick update on my fundraising goals:
- Funds to put towards about $3,000 in medical debt (expenses related to my 2023 surgery, and treatments, labs, tests, medication in 2023 and 2024.)
- Help for upcoming doctor appointments, labs, a diagnostic test, medicine, etc.
- Donations towards medical expenses will help me get the new tires and brakes my car needs, estimated cost: $2,200-$2,500.
I have already cut back on treatments in the last several months to save money, at the expense of not receiving care that was helping manage my pain and symptoms.
Your support means so much to me and my family!
Thank you to everyone who donated in 2023! Your assistance has helped me pay for expenses related to my unexpected surgery in July 2023. I’ve also been able to start physical therapy again, and your donations have helped go towards those appointments.
In total we raised $1,550 of my $4000 goal in 2023! Thank you so much for everyone who contributed!
The plan starting this year: I’m currently scheduling new labwork, a diagnostic test, and trying new medication.
I’m setting my goal for 2024 for $4000 to put towards my 2023 bills and upcoming medical expenses, appointments, and treatments for my multiple chronic illnesses.
First the good news post-surgery: I do not have cancer again!
I’ve been recovering from surgery, which has taken longer than anticipated due to my health. But I am thankful to report I will not need further surgery. Thank you for all the prayers!
I’ve been grateful to enjoy some brief time sitting and walking outside in late August and September, and even got to see a few friends in person.
As far as fundraising goes:
-I’m hoping to raise enough to pay for my surgery this summer.
I am also hoping to raise enough to pay for:
-Multiple appointments with the four new specialists I’ve added to my team this year.
-The labwork and diagnostic tests I had done related to surgery.
My stretch goal is to help pay for other ongoing expenses. These expenses include:
-Medication (two of which my insurance does not cover at all.)
-Ongoing treatment like chiropractic care.
-Copays for my PCP and specialists.
-Vitamins and supplements that treat my conditions and help with the my difficulty absorbing nutrients.
-I also just got more labwork done, and some of it is not normal. So I have at least one more unplanned doctor appointment and round of bloodwork coming up.
Thank you so much to you all of you following along and supporting me through all the ups and downs of this journey. I’m so grateful for all the love and prayers. If you’re also able to donate, I appreciate that so much.
Update you soon!
Cassie
Hi friends, I wanted to share a health update: I am preparing for surgery a little later this month to find out if I have cancer again.
While going through testing the last couple months (and getting diagnosed with another chronic illness) a mass was found that needs to be removed and tested.
I found out that the chance of secondary cancers due to my past radiation during thyroid cancer is much higher than studies showed seven years ago.
If the tests after surgery show cancer, I will need additional surgery and radiation.
I wanted to update this fundraiser to help with costs of the four new specialists I’ve added to my team in the last two months. I’ve had additional tests and bloodwork, and the upcoming cost of surgery. Anything raised over the cost of these expenses would go towards my ongoing expenses for chronic illness: doctor appointments, medication, treatments, etc.
I am so grateful for the $3000 you all donated last year. I was able to pay for my IV treatments in 2022 and put the rest earned towards some my medical expenses earlier this year. I’m raising my goal to $7000 for my upcoming expenses.
Just saw this and wanted to share the opportunity to make your donation go further: Help Hope Live is waving the credit card fee on donations Giving Tuesday (today):
“Between midnight on Tuesday, Nov 29, and 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov 30, we will cover the credit card fee for all donations made in honor of any Help Hope Live client.”
As for an update, we’re kind of in a holding pattern right now. My infusion I had once at the beginning of November was stopped because of how much I reacted. I had two doctor appointments, including one about restarting that infusion at a lower dose. So now that’s squared away, I’m waiting to hear back from the infusion center to see when I can get scheduled for that infusion, and a second one. Hopefully these two different infusions will help with symptoms like fatigue and all the symptoms of POTS (a form of Dysautonomia).
I would greatly appreciate prayer that these infusions help me start having improved function!
Thanks friends, I’ll update sometime after we’ve given these infusions a try. I hope you have a blessed Christmas season.
Hi friends, I wanted to share a little update.
I tried the IVIG infusion, and due to the reactions I experienced, we’ve paused that treatment for now. This is pretty typical, for me personally and for any patient with complex medical issues, sensitivities, and allergies.
I’m currently working with my doctors to pursue two different kinds of infusions. Prayers appreciated that they get approved and scheduled in the near future! They sound very promising for helping me start to see improvement.
I am so grateful to everyone who has donated. So far I’ve been able to pay for the IVIG infusion, a doctor copay, and chiropractic treatments. This is huge, and having these expenses covered has taken such a weight off my mind. Chronic illness can feel like a very lonely journey with no end in sight, and I so appreciate everyone who has helped me feel so supported.
I’m also working with my doctor to see if he can write up notes showing medical necessity to replace some things in our home so they are more allergy-friendly to help my asthma. I’m going to bump up our goal to $3000 see if we can cover some of those expenses through this fundraiser.
I truly appreciate you! God bless,
Cassie
Oh my goodness, we met my first goal in just a little over 24 hours! I’m beyond blessed by everyone’s generosity!
I’m expecting my bill from my June infusion any day now, so I’m thrilled that I’ll be able to pay it right away.
I’m going to set our next goal for $2,000!
