Hello, my name is Marvin. On July 1st, 2015 I was involved in a trucking accident, resulting in me needing multiple surgeries over the past 7 years. The most devastating of these has been my above the knee amputation on my right leg. Due to this I am now wheelchair-bound and unable to get to my medical appointments without a form of wheelchair accessible transportation.
I’m a married father of eight, with five children still at home, ages 6 to 16. Prior to the accident, I served as a mentor for the youth in our community. We assisted and fed the homeless, volunteered for seniors, and those in need. I also coached and instructed youth baseball for many years.
Unfortunately, because of my lack of transportation, and inability to have a consistent care provider helping me, I am unable to attend my own medical appointments, participate in my children’s after-school programs, or continue my important community work.
I need your help purchasing a wheelchair accessible vehicle to be able to take care of myself, my family, and my community. Your donation will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support!
