James Arthur King (Jim) was born in Doylestown, PA, the oldest of five children; one sister and 3 brothers. He is the proud father of four; sons James and John; daughters Erin and Kathleen. At this time he is up against a challenge he cannot face alone. His doctors at Lehigh Valley Hospital have determined Jim is in desperate need of a kidney transplant in order to live.
In 2005 Jim lost a kidney to a malignant tumor. By May of 2011, his remaining kidney started to fail and could no longer handle the strain after a triple bypass. Jim’s health is deteriorating quickly and he now requires dialysis treatments.
Early in Jim’s career he was a professional race car fabricator then many years after that an auto body mechanic. Ultimately he worked as an insurance adjuster and still does to this day. However, his most fulfilling role for the last 16 years has been as a supporter of those in recovery from drugs and alcohol, helping people put their lives back together. Jim still makes himself available to those in need. Now he needs your help.
Transplants are extremely expensive, and costs can be devastating. Even though Jim has insurance, there will be many out-of-pocket expenses such as co-pays for hospital visits and clinics, travel and post- transplant medications needed for the rest of his life.
To help with such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Jim’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Mid-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.

At times like this, the help of family, friends and the community is crucial to help ensure a successful outcome. Your financial gifts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
Warm regards,
Jim Schlupp (Friend)
