Viola King of Brooklyn, New York is up against a challenge she cannot meet alone. As many of you already know, she suffers from primary schlerosing cholangitis. She has courageously fought this disease for many years and is still waiting for a life-saving liver transplant. On April 23, 2014, Viola had her colon removed in a grueling 8 hour-long surgery. The recovery from this surgery has been long and slow. Viola has faced this and every obstacle along the way with grace and courage and she remains hopeful for her miracle: a new liver. Viola has been on the transplant waiting list since 2006 for a liver transplant at New York University Medical Center.

Although Viola has insurance she will incur many uninsured medical expenses. To help with this financial burden, a fundraising campaign in Viola’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the New York Liver Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
