We just wanted to update everyone, that Greg had his double lung transplant on December 12, 2022!

He's doing really well. Thanks b to God and everyone's prayers ..he was to stay in the hospital 30 days but he is getting to leave hospital a week early. Although we still cannot go home for another 30 days as we need to stay close to hospital as he will still have several appointments to make sure his lungs are doing good .. so now as we prepare to leave this week we will be needing funds for medications as he will be taking 23 different medications, plus 2 different insulins. On top of these bills is the enormous hospital bill. We don't like asking for money, since we have always been givers but now I'm asking for your financial help .. please share this to your friends and family …

Greg’s surgery ended up taking about 14 hours to be completed. Overall, things went well other than in the beginning as they were taking out/putting in the new lung his old lung couldn’t support all the breathing and had to be put on the vents right away. More so to be expected as how damaged the lungs were to start.

Fast forward to 2 days after surgery. Not much change. Greg is still partially sedated and still with all the tubing and the vent. The nursing staff has been incredible and they’ve been so busy with around the clock with care.

Toward the evening of Dec 14, Greg started to be a bit more communicative with us by shaking his head yes or no to questions as well as opening his eyes.

Dec 15, the plan today is to slowly start weening him off the vent. The tubing will still stay in place down his throat for now. Overall things are moving in the right direction.

So glad Greg could get this life saving transplant. I am donating in memory of my friend - Joseph Firecrow, who suffered from the same disease and died before he could get his transplant.
