At 58-years-old, Rebecca L. Krouch is a young woman with an infectious laugh and a love of life who has been a resident of the Las Vegas area for more than 30 years. In the early 80’s, she was diagnosed with potential serious liver problems, yet was able to work 26 of the last 30 years in the gaming industry, primarily as a Blackjack Dealer. In 2007, her health became compromised due to the liver disease and she was forced to quit working! Rebecca now has end-stage liver disease with cancer and was informed that her only chance for survival was a liver transplant.

Rebecca was evaluated and found to be a good candidate for transplant. While she was recently placed on the active transplant waiting list at the University Medical Center/University of Arizona, she must immediately start targeted chemotherapy as the cancer is rapidly growing. The chemo will hopefully buy her a little more time as she waits for the transplant.

As today 2/21/2014 I am still waiting for my liver transplant

My good days are getting fewer and fewer. Some days I can sleep for 3 and 4 days at a time. I hate that. Then I'll have a good day, so I will clean my house and do laundry.

I am still keeping my hopes up. I love to laugh, I can still do that.

I want to thank everyone for their support.

I want to thank everyone for thinking about me in my time of need. I am still waiting for a new liver. Hopefully it will be soon.

My good days are getting fewer and farther apart.

I can't wait to feel good again. I think I will have a new liver by spring. They go by your meld score, they check that every 3 mo.

Mine is at 28, when you start getting into the 30's then they need to start moving on my surgery.

Anyway I am thinking positive. I walk my dog everyday so I get exercise. I gained over 40 lbs in the last year. My stomach is huge

Dr's say my liver and spleen are swollen. I have never been this size 140 lb's to 150 lbs

Thanks again for your support.
