At this point in my life, I can’t do most basic tasks without losing breath, and have to use oxygen even while sitting since my lungs are only 20% functional.
The double lung transplant will allow me to have a healthy life. It does come with many risks, but it is my only chance at living and overcoming COPD. In order to fully prepare for my surgery, I created this fundraising campaign and ask for your support. Your donations will help me with frequent follow up
visits after the transplant, copays for medications, and transportation expenses. Any amount will be greatly appreciated and will allow me to recover without financial stress. The donations are tax-deductible!
I was diagnosed with COPD when I was 16 and have been frequently hospitalized even before my diagnosis. But I can’t say that I had a bad childhood. I believe that my stays at the hospital and specialized
facilities made me more resilient. It was during those stays when I met some of the most amazing people. Most of them were patients, but many were nurses whom I’d never forget for their goodness and care. Unfortunately, most of the friends I had met have died over the years, but that only taught me to appreciate the life I had regardless of how sick I am.
I didn’t want COPD to define my life and it pushed me to have the best life I could. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. It did take me longer to finish my degree because of my hospitalizations. I also took time off to help my father who was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Once I completed my
degree, I worked at a bank until my condition worsened so that I had to quit.
There is still so much I’d love to accomplish after the transplant! I want to meet my future parents-in-law, adopt a dog with my partner, and get a motorcycle license since I love to ride them! But most of all I just want a normal life where I don’t need oxygen tanks holding me back.
Thank you for your support!

Miracles Happen!
On my 33rd Birthday I woke up with a new, beautiful set of lungs! It was such incredible feeling to be able to breath easily. Of course, it took me couple of days to get used to my new lungs, but now, after 8 months I am able to do things I could not do before transplant. I play with my dogs, I walk without getting tired- it is all so new to me and I enjoy it so much! Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to me and helps me so much!
