Mason is nonverbal, unable to sit or stand by himself, and in need of assistive technologies in order to carry out daily life activities. Mason is now seven years old, 80 lbs, and growing. There are numerous requirements for adaptive equipment, etc. We do our best between work and insurance to meet those needs.
However, Mason’s most significant need is for a wheelchair-accessible vehicle large enough for Mason to be changed inside. He will likely be wearing diapers for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, typical changing tables at public facilities are not large enough to accommodate a 4ft 5in, 80lb, and growing 7-year-old. The cost of an Accessible vehicle these days can well exceed $80,000.
Did you ever have a dream? You waited all your life to make it a reality. I aimed to have a happy and healthy family I could care for, love, and give the best life possible. I imagined Mason running, jumping, and playing with his friends and family. I imagined teaching Mason to play sports. I imagined his voice’s sound as he’d say, “I love you.” However, to have those dreams suddenly shattered at four months of Mason’s life when the doctor walked into his exam room and coldly stated, “Your son has a severely malformed brain and less than two years to live due to Lissencephaly.” it is beyond devastating.
How can you help? Donations to Mason’s Mobile Miracle campaign via the Help Hope Live Organization can help ease the financial burden we are facing trying to purchase a wheelchair-accessible vehicle for Mason. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle will allow us to safely and conveniently transport Mason to school, doctor appointments, and other activities that would enable Mason to live as fully as possible. You can be part of the solution, and in addition, all donations are tax-deductible. Mason needs your support now more than ever. Thank you for being part of Mason’s Mobile Miracle Fundraiser. Your donations will help change Mason’s life for the better.
Family and friends of Mason Addoo are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with Catastrophic Illness.
Mason has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors.
Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses.
