Family and friends of Zachary Firks are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund out of pocket post-transplant treatment. Due to the high cost of treatment, transplant surgery has been delayed until the first year has been funded.

Zach is a 26-year-old from Noblesville, Indiana man who has been fighting kidney disease since 2008. He has been receiving daily dialysis treatments going on 4 years. Currently his treatment totals 12 hours a day. As many of you know, Zach is in need of a kidney transplant. While the transplant itself is a major surgery, the real battle begins after the surgery is over. In order to ensure that Zach’s body does not reject the new kidney, he will need to take a specific anti-rejection treatment that costs around $15,000 a year out of pocket.

The thought of not being able to afford this necessary treatment is devastating for Zach and for his loved ones. We cannot bear the thought of him having to suffer any longer and not being able to receive the transplant that could save his life. That is why we are turning to you, family, friends, and strangers, for help. Every little bit helps and any contribution you can make towards his medical expenses will be greatly appreciated.
