Help Harvie minimize the financial burden associated with getting a kidney transplant.Harvie is a 63-year security guard with end stage kidney disease. In 2016 he was informed that his kidneys were failing, and he started dialysis in October of 2018. Even though dialysis has helped regain much of his health, without a kidney transplant his life expectancy is significantly reduced. Harvie is an avid brewer, barbecuer and amateur musician. As a brewer, Harvie has experimented with making hard to find classic beers from around the world as well as creating unique beers of his own design. Harvie has also spent many hours pursuing the perfect barbequed beef brisket as well as infusing smoke into a wide range of foods. Music is a big part of Harvie’s life. He enjoys playing a wide range of Classical music in many different musical groups. Lastly Harvie is a Master Mason. His deep involvement in his Masonic Lodge is driven by a desire to improve himself as well as the community. Harvie’s kidney disease have left him feeling tired and highly susceptible to infections of all kinds. Harvie is required to go through kidney dialysis 3 times a week with each session lasting about 4 ½ hours. Maintaining a full-time work schedule along with kidney dialysis leaves Harvie little time to engage in any of his hobbies and interests. Harvie is raising funds to help pay for costs related to his kidney transplant. These costs include expenses not covered by insurance, as well as typical bills while he cannot work. Recovery from surgery will require that Harvie not work for 6 – 8 weeks. There will be a need to cover costs for anti-rejection and anti-viral drugs. And, of course, there will likely be expenses that may come up that cannot be anticipated related to kidney transplant. Getting a kidney transplant will increase Harvie’s energy level and prolong his life. Harvie will no longer have to receive kidney dialysis which will allow him to enjoy those hobbies and activities that bring flavor to his life. Please donate to Help Hope Live in Harvie’s honor today, and ask your friends and family to give too! There will be fundraising events in Harvie’s honor coming soon.
