Through Project Elevate Mobility, your charitable donation supports a dollar-for-dollar matching program that enables these individuals to purchase a Zeen®, a revolutionary mobility device designed to empower people to stand up and walk without the fear of falling, and sit and rest comfortably when necessary.
Unlike a wheelchair or electric scooter, the Zeen’s motor-free technology lifts up to 75% of one’s body weight, raising them safely from a seated position to standing. This enables upright walking allowing them to move hands-free or to sit at a standing-height for eye-level engagement with others. My daughter Colleen had a brain injury at age 15, and now at age 37 she has had problems with frequent falls and balance problems. Colleen started using her Zeen in September, and it is so wonderful to see her "walking" so freely on her own, no longer needing someone to be in contact with her at all times. Her neurologist thought she needed a power wheelchair, but we found the Zeen on Facebook and took a leap of faith! It's off to the races for Colleen now! No power wheelchair needed!
