Thank you for your support!
Rob is HOME!!! What a crazy journey. He is Healthy , Happy to be home . Seeing Iris after so long was exactly what he needed. She has been such a fantastic support dog with all of our medical issues as a couple for the last 3 years. He is getting around great in our house. The farm is going to be an amazing place to regroup mentally and emotionally from this traumatic journey so far. All of his support from parents and siblings and importantly his 4 boys and 2 stepdaughters will bring new life into our young marriage. Please keep us in your prayers for a quick healing of both mind and body. And may his spiritual guidance from the great Lord above continue to bless him. Thank you too for your generosity to aid us in supporting the finacial burden that will continue for his lifetime.
So everyone is asking for an update! Rob will finally be leaving Georgetown university Hospital this week to go to a physical rehab hospital for a coupleish weeks. This is to strengthen his well depleted muscles after 3 plus months in a bed. Medically he is nothing shy of a miracle! He truly is my Superman with internal mental strength like I have never seen. Acute hepatorenal syndrome and then 3 weeks of covid in the hospital didn’t take him down. A double organ transplant is no joke. Will be a long healing process now. Mentally and physically. Thank you everyone for your prayers. Prayers ABSOLUTELY WORK MIRACLES! Now Rob and I can live out our future together stronger than ever.
Newest update on Rob’s recovery. Hit a snag again on Tuesday, he was having a hard time breathing and we thought it may be a clot, but CT scan showed a hematoma at the graft site on the liver that was pressing on it. Thursday he went back to OR to clean out the site and now he is looking pretty stable. The transplant kidney is so far a little sleepy and not functioning barely at all. This is not uncommon so he is on continuous dialysis and will only improve in the next few days. Keep those prayers coming. Tomorrow is Palm Sunday, when you are kneeling and praying, say an extra for my love if you can.
For all of you asking for an update, Rob has passed yet another hurdle!!! This one was unexpected. He had evaded the dreaded COVID since its inception in 2020, but, lo and behold, he tested positive IN THE HOSPITAL FOR COVID! How?? who knows. But 3 weeks later, the stinkin’ virus has left his system and we are free to move on for our quest for a double transplant as of…. NOW. So, I will try to update as we keep moving forward. This is gonna be a long arduous journey… keep those prayers coming. And a small donation will certainly help. He is not giving up.
We have had setback after setback (3rd hospital to be exact) to get to surgery, most people start these campaigns at the early stage of diagnosis but this is not that scenario. Rob needs this transplant now. He is in great spirits and mentally and spiritually ready for this. Please keep him in your prayers !
Thank you for the kind get well wishes. Rob is 7 weeks into the worst of this sickness. If you know him, you know he is a strong man. Mentally and physically. He can get through this and will. Any help will ease his stress on what lies ahead!!!
At 48 years old Rob was planning a move to milder weather in South Carolina but January presented him with a life changing set of circumstances. Hepatorenal syndrome. He needs a double organ transplant to save his life.
