Hi my name is Aislyn and I’m 16 years old. I have struggled with Complex Medical issues and Mental Illness all my life. My mom and I have tried everything you can imagine to get help. We decided that a Task/Service dog could help me to live life to the fullest and continue to work on my health.

A service dog can cost anywhere from 15k to 45k. Thankfully we were lucky to find a place that is close to our home. My dog will cost 17k, its tasks will include many medical and psychiatric alerts and other tasks. A service dog will help me tremendously to do the things I thought I would never be able to do, like graduate high school, go to college, become a nurse, and so much more!

Last Update for now:

Aislyn suffered a medical set back around Christmas time that sent her to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh (what's up 7B, we love you Miss Terry) for 10 days From December 29th- January 10th. At which point we found out that she had suffer a complete shut down of her GI tract. This was a side effect from her RSV infection from late November. She had many tests and imaging done and eventually led to having an NJ tube placed. The feeding tube came out several times, and came out unwillingly unfortunately. This in turn caused us to return to the hospital each time. This also interrupted and complicated her efforts to gain strength and increase her nutritional intake. She has received several diagnoses each time, each one more confusing and frustrating as the one before. Her disorder is more of lack of proper function and over active nerves in her gut than a malformation, blockage, ulcer or other. There is no real cure or defined treatment, just pain and symptom management. This news then lead us to Chronic Pain for a consultation to help her with pain management, slowly re-incorporating food and trying to keep it down. And now she has finally returned to school just this week on Monday February 26th. Her current diagnoses is a remission of Gastroparesis, Chronic Abdominal pain, and Visceral Hyperalgeria, ther is also Functional Dyspepsia associated with that. All of this can be caused by POTS and vice versa which we knew she had for quite some and finally got a diagnosis for this year.

We appreciate your prayers and and continued support!

Last weekend we had a rummage sale at one of our local churches. It was a huge success! It was the first big fundraiser for Aislyn. It also was an opportunity for more exposure to our community to meet and greet. A huge thank you to Father Skip and Jean who were ther for all of the setting up the whole sale and tearing down. Also thank you to Relevant Church and all of the folks who donated items, shopped, bought 50/50 tickets or just stopped to say hello, donated money or time to help with sweat equity!

Our Totals were as follows:

Rummage Sale (after a donation to the church) $1,539.19

Our half of the 50/50 Raffle: $76.50

Coin Jar at the Rummage Sale: $231.34

WOW!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH CORRY, PA!!!!!
