Family and friends of Paul Dodd’s are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with transplantation.

Paul, a resident of Grimes County, is 57 years old & has Polycystic Kidney Disease. In 2021 he got Covid, his kidneys shut down & he had to have one kidney removed. With only one kidney his treatment options are limited to dialysis or a kidney transplant. Paul started dialysis in January of 2022 & will need it until a kidney transplant becomes available. Dialysis is 3 times a week for 4 hours at a time & is physically draining. Due to his rare blood type (B+) the best option is for a living donor. The transplant team is in Temple & requires many visits in order to receive dialysis & stay on the transplant list. Paul was forced to retire from his job & is on disability but there are many unforeseen out of pocket expenses that are a financial burden. This is why we are trying to raise money. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Paul has chosen to fundraise through Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised & tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical expenses associated with transplantation.
