Family and friends of Michael Taylor are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a single lung transplantation. I chose to go with this fund raising because you are guaranteed that it is used for a purpose rather than a handout!
To tell my story a bit, I wish I didn’t need to ask for your help but these days of inflation have cost us dearly.
I am currently at 18% lung capacity. There are several high cost medications that are required and ever little bit will help offset those cost. Having your support will help get us through the tough part after the hopeful transplant. It will be used for the special meds required to sustain health condition and the cost of transportation to and from the hospital. It will help ease the stress since Karla will be missing a lot of work during and after the transplant. We will have to make many trips to the hospital for tests and checkups to make sure there is no rejection happening.
I appreciate every little bit you can afford with thoughts and thanks from our hearts!
Michael has chosen to fundraise for Help Hope Live in part because Help Hope Live assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. Contributors can be sure donations will be used to pay or reimburse medical and related expenses. To make a tax-deductible donation to this fundraising campaign, click on the Give button.

Thank you for your support!
God sent an angel!
On March 16th 2024 I received the gift of a right lung from a beautiful soul that the lord has called home to heaven. I am beyond grateful to have matched this very special person. I want everyone to know that the most precious people are organ donors. I now share my new birthday of March 16th with the soul of this beautiful person. God is in control.
I am also very thankful for all the donations to date as my fist round of monthly meds has exceeded over $1000.00. This will continue for a few more months then start to subside. If you have a few extra bucks to spare to help with these cost, feel free to make a tax deductible donation. With this being said, I am so beyond thankful to be able to breathe freely with out supplemental oxygen! Take care of your lungs! They are very important for life!
Thank you
Mike and Karla
Just updating and asking for more to help. We are almost to the goal so every little bit helps. On Tuesday the 2nd of Aug. I saw the Dr. and still hoping for a transplant soon. they tell me activity has increased here. Just keep praying for soon. My FEV1 dropped to 16% this month another 1% down. Getting harder all the time to breath easy even when just walking a short distance. Now I will have to do a 6 minute walk test again next month but I don't go until the 12th of Sept. I will also have to do an annual social meeting at this appointment. So if you have any extra $$'s to spare the would be greatly appreciated. I thank you in advance from the bottom of my heart! ❤️
Please try to dig deep into your pocket and help with any little bit you can. Here is my current update.
Last Monday the 3rd had my monthly to the transplant clinic. My PFT FEV1 is down to 17% now. Also dropped 300 feet off my last total on the min walk test. Had to rest 3 times this time. Th weather has been terrible though with high heat and high humidity and lots of rain I just can't get out and do much. The humidity makes it very hard to breathe. Dr. says he really hopes I get a lung match soon. Keep the prayers coming for one. As we do know it is God's choice to give me a new one as he calls home the precious life of someone.
As of today my lung capacity is only 18% of a normal 66 year old male. Seems at time like trying to suck a potato through a straw to get air. Let's pray for a transplant soon. watch for updates to come.
