Graylin is a is a 15 year old boy with a history of epilepsy since February of 2010. He has been having seizures since the age of 2. He currently takes medicines on a daily basis to control his seizures.
Graylin’s primary exceptionality is multiple disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities (Severe), and developmental delays. Graylin has limited communication but is learning to express his wants and needs. He is generally happy and enjoys school. Graylin loves to draw, color, and paint. He enjoys building with blocks and legos. He loves Paw Patrol characters and enjoys watching videos on an iPad.
The reason for this fundraiser is to help Graylin raise money to purchase a large adaptive tricycle. By receiving this tricycle Graylin will improve his leg strength, gross motor and coordination skills. He will be able to ride the bike in his neighborhood and gain social exposure. It will give him the ability to interact and do activities with peers. This special bike has modifications like a split level/ tilting steering wheel, velcro foot strapped pedals, assisted steering from the back, and a chest harness with trunk support to hold him upright incase he has a seizure while riding.
The goal is to raise$3000 the cost of the bike plus cost for shipping and handling. Please help keep a smile on his face by having a bike of his own. Let Graylin experience the thrill and joy of being able to ride a bike- which is a childhood rite of passage he’s never be able to enjoy with his family.
