After decades of dealing with the effects of genetically transferred polycystic kidney disease (and watching his father’s suffering from the same illness). Joshua Raymond is getting a new kidney from a live donor! Josh believes God is responsible: His influence on medical science and amazing advances, providing a donor who is a close friend, timing that is perfect, and a family that is supportive. This has all been covered in prayers of petition and thankfulness!
This surgery restores the health of a husband of 23 years, a father of three, a loving son and brother, “the youth group Dad,” the Jesus-follower who never turns people away, the “pirate,” the servant, the jokester, the friend. However, since life tends to be not highs and lows, but twin rails of joy and struggle, there is a challenge; Josh will be out of work for several months. Therefore, we hope to raise $10,000 for medical expenses to lift the family’s burden.
Josh has chosen to use HelpHopeLive at helphopelive.org. This donation organization is tax deductible for donors and holds the recipient to a higher standard, requiring receipts for reimbursements rather than just releasing funds to the recipient. Josh wants to be as transparent in the process as possible, holding to godly fidelity.
Thank you for any help you give. The family is grateful for the blessings of you all!
Hi everyone. Just wanted to give you an update that Josh got his transplant just about 1 month ago and he and his donor are doing great. Thanks again for all your prayers and support.
Hi everyone! This is Laurajane, Josh's wife. I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all those who have helped us along this journey. If you have prayed, donated or even just visited this page, thank you. We have been so blessed by so many and we are so thankful to each and every one of you. God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.
