Mya is a 10 year old little girl who is currently a 4th grader in a special education classroom. Mya is an identical twin who was born at 30 weeks. As a result, she developed spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy, Lennox gastaut syndrome, cortical visual impairment, congenital hip dysplasia and developmental delays. I’m Mya’s world, she’s perfect, and that’s the way we see her, as a perfect little girl. But, as she continues to become older it is increasingly difficult to transport her in her specialized wheelchair without the use of an accessible vehicle for mobility. Mya loves music because the rhythm and the beats help to stimulate her mind and all of her senses. She is always happy, giggling and smiling. Her smile warms your heart. She loves family, applesauce and oatmeal. As she has become older, it’s been difficult for her to participate in many activities like other kids her age because of transportation. Mya depends on her wheelchair everyday. Mya is fundraising for the purchase of a new accessible vehicle for transportation. Insurance will not cover the cost and grants only pay for $1000.00 to $2000.00 of the cost. We are trying to raise at least $35,000 to help fund the cost of an adaptive vehicle for transportation purposes. With a new adaptive vehicle, Mya will be able to travel day to day and she will be able to take vacations like other kids her age. ill be able to get a job designing the games he loves to play after he graduates!
Please donate to Help Hope Live in Mya’s honor today, and ask your friends and family to give, too! Please look out for an upcoming t-shirt fundraiser I am planning for additional support. Thank you for your generous support!
